We are an online company only but we invite prospective purchasers of Tortoises, to telephone us first for qualified advice, to ensure a Tortoise is the correct choice pet for you.

Ordering.
Please DO NOT order a Tortoise from us then decide to cancel your order. A tortoise is expected to live for many years and they deserve some appropriate consideration, before you decide and commit to purchase.
We accept orders via our website, and by telephone. When ordering by telephone or by email and making payment by Bank Transfer, the customer is accepting the Terms of business as set out on this page.

If you make payment for your order by Bank Transfer, please then email us at everythingtortoises@gmail.com with full details of your order. This information must include your name, delivery address, post code, your email address, and contact telephone number. We usually email customers within a few hours, and offer the next available delivery date.
At this stage, we also attach some Caresheets including a Safe Plant List, in advance of your delivery. A hard copy is always placed in the delivery box, together with an Article 10 Certificate for each tortoise purchased, where the Law states, one must be provided by the seller. We are not required by Law to keep copies, of customers Article 10 certificates, so you may wish to make a copy yourself for safe keeping.
Customers are welcome to contact us after purchasing, if they require any further advice or help. the simplest way to do this is to telephone us.
Please note we do not send any dry goods by post. If you wish to order Combination Heat & UV bulbs, Water dishes, Dry Food, Calcium D3 Powder etc, they need to be ordered with your tortoise. The Animal Courier will delivery all dry goods and Tortoise(s) together, on an agreed date.
General Care. It is VERY important that you get your garden tortoises, in the garden, at every opportunity, when the weather is dry and mild. Even if it is a cloudy day, they must still be outside. When small we recommend you place them in a rabbit style RUN, not a hutch, or you can use a Chicken Arc Position this on natural grass. This type of enclosure will afford the Tortoises(s) protection. Natural weeds can then grow within this area.
Delivery Service. Our very popular Animal Welfare approved delivery service, HiFlyers Couriers are only able to deliver in England, and Wales. Sorry we do not arrange deliveries to Scotland, Scottish Islands, Northern or Southern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands.
Garden tortoise species such as Horsfield’s and Hermann’s travel extremely well, as when provided with cool temperatures, they will be inactive so just sleep. They then wake up in their new home.
Collecting from Wales. If you order on this website, and wish to collect from an agreed location in Wales which can sometimes be arranged (by appointment) you will still automatically be charged delivery at Checkout. However after you have placed your online order, please send us an email, stating you would like to collect from an agreed collection point in Wales, we will refund the delivery charge to you, via the online payment system, usually within 24 hours. Note there is an ‘in person’ collection pick up charge of ten pounds.
Minimum age to purchase Vertebrate Livestock.
As you the customer are purchasing a live animal from us, you confirm by making a purchase from us, that you are (a) 16 years of age or older, and (b) that you have the appropriate knowledge and housing to provide for the continued welfare of the tortoises(s). If you are ordering from us online, we are happy to offer you the correct care advice by telephone, to ensure your choice of species of tortoise is right for you and the tortoise. Product Descriptions dry goods, Sex, Size and Age of Tortoises offered.
It is not usually possible to guarantee the sex, or the precise date of birth (only the year) of the tortoise you are purchasing, unless this is specifically stated: in an Article 10 Certificate, on our website, or is stated in an email from us, before your order is despatched. In the case of Horsfields, Hermann’s and Leopard tortoises we are only aware of the year of hatch as stated in the product descriptions on this website. Many people who have purchased from us over the past forty four years, frequently adopt the day and month they bought the tortoise(s), against the known year of hatch. We have built excellent relationships with many very successful breeders over the years, and for them to keep record of each individually hatched tortoises, day and month would be almost impossible. Where two tortoises are bought together, it does not imply that they are male and female.
As Manufacturers and suppliers are constantly updating their products, such as Tortoise Tables, UV lighting, and enclosures, we reserve the right to supply an alternative, of equal or better retail price. Therefore the product you receive, may not be identical to the one you have ordered from us.
Photographs shown on this website, can be general and may not be of the specific tortoise, you will receive. It may be difficult for us to keep separate a specific tortoise that you like the colour of.
Delivery by HiFlyers Animal Couriers.
They offer a weekly delivery service. You will not necessarily receive a delivery the same week you order. BUT it is possible depending upon the day we receive your order and full payment. The Animal Courier has a cut off day/time for deliveries to be made on the Thursday. Please read the following before you order. We will contact you via email, usually within a few hours of receiving your order, to arrange a mutually convenient date to deliver your new tortoise. We never deliver tortoises without first agreeing a delivery date with you. Once we have offered you a proposed delivery date by email, YOU must email us back, to confirm that a responsible person, will be available at the delivery address, to accept delivery on the agreed date.
Where a customer places an order, with us by phone, by emailing us back to accept our offer of the delivery date, you are confirming, you also accept our terms of business as shown on this page. Please keep an eye on your spam folder in case our emails should end up there.
When emailing us back, you must identify yourself by including your full name and address provided when you ordered online. Please add us to your safe Contacts, to ensure you receive our timely emails. A specific delivery time, is never offered due to various factors outside of the delivery drivers control, road traffic conditions, weather etc. You the customer are agreeing to accept a delivery only on an agreed day. It is our experience, that HiFlyers Couriers, will call our customers, the day before delivery, to advise our customers of a rough delivery time. This is always subject to variables beyond their control, such as weather and traffic conditions prevailing on the day of delivery.
You will be required by HiFlyers Couriers, to sign, print, time and date when they deliver your order.
Unfavorable weather conditions, which would be against the best welfare requirements of the tortoise, may necessitate your delivery being rescheduled for an alternative delivery date.
On rare occasions it may be necessary for us to re schedule your delivery day. This can be because of circumstances beyond our control, such as delivery of a specific tortoise to us direct from the breeder, and an acclimatization period we operate between receiving tortoises from the supplier, and us dispatching to our customers. In these circumstances no refunds will be made, unless we are not in a position to confirm a revised estimated delivery date.
Livestock Guarantee.
Unlike most other companies, we offer a thirty day health guarantee on all tortoises bought from us. This applies to retail customers only. In the very unlikely event that your tortoise should die within thirty days of its delivery to you, if we are satisfied you have expressly followed our Tortoise care advice, and not taken advice from a third party, we would replace the tortoise free of charge. Should this situation arise, the customer will be liable to first pay the unsubsidised animal courier delivery charge, which is currently £65.00. If this situation should arise, no financial refund will be due or offered. If the breed of tortoise you purchased is out of stock, you will need to wait until we have one available for replacement. Under these circumstances no refund will be made. The guarantee period of thirty days will start from the date the original tortoise was delivered to the customer, or collected from an agreed location in Wales. If a replacement tortoise should be given, there is no guarantee given on that tortoise.
Returns, and cancellation policy.
In accordance with the distance selling law you have a 7 day cooling off period in which you have the right to cancel your purchase and receive a refund for the products excluding any (postage of dry goods) or animal courier delivery costs. This is subject to (a) the products being returned to us by you the customer, in their original condition, (b) we do not organise any courier to return of any animal or dry goods product to us, (c) cost for the products return at the customers own expense, (d) all returned products are subject to a 20% restocking fee and (e) before returning any product, you must first obtain from our customer services Team via email, a ‘returns number.’
If you cancel your order before we deliver it to you, but after you have sent us an email confirming you are willing to accept delivery on an agreed date, we will charge you the full unsubsidised delivery charge. The current unsubsidised livestock delivery charge is £65.00.
Refunds.
If we decide for any reason, to refund the full amount of money, you have paid to us, at the point the refund is made, this will be deemed to be the end to our legal contract with you.
You can expect a refund to take up to 28 working days to process.
If the customer does not to wait for 28 days to elapse, and decides to raise the issue with their bank, that will be considered to be, a breach of the legal contract, between us the company, and you the customer. We (the company) will be entitled, to deduct the sum of sixty pounds, from any refund which may be due, to cover our administration and time involved, specifically in dealing with your Bank, arising from this breach of contract.
The only exception to this term of business is, when we are not able to deliver the goods to the customer, within a reasonable period, of the advised expected time. If that situation should occur, we will offer a full refund of the money received from the customer.
Tortoise Welfare Advice. Please be aware, particularly when researching the care of tortoises, there is a considerable amount of very inaccurate, poor advice and information on the internet, concerning tortoise welfare. We are very happy to offer free advice, based upon forty four years of keeping, and supplying healthy tortoises. If you purchase a tortoise from us, but subsequently decide to take advice from a third party regarding its care, it will invalidate your guarantee with our company. Please ask us if you want free helpful, professional tortoise advice.
Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Members of the public who are considering purchasing a live animal, should be aware under the above act they must comply with the following FIVE welfare conditions.
1) Provide a suitable Environment
2) Provide a suitable Diet
3) Allow the animal to exhibit normal Behaviour Patterns
4) Allow the animal to be kept with or apart (depending on the species) from other animals.
5) Protect the animal from, Pain, Suffering, Injury and Disease. Ensuring prompt veterinary treatment for sickness or injury, and taking preventative measures to maintain good health.
Extended Health Guarantee.
You can extend our normal 30 day health guarantee, against (death only) of your tortoise. You can extend it up to six months. The cost is £49.95 and must be ordered and paid by telephoning us. The cost is for each tortoise covered. The purchase of our extended guarantee must be taken out (paid for) within seven days of receiving/collecting your tortoise from us.
As with the purchase of any live animal, we would suggest you consider taking out Insurance cover, against potential vets fees and even death. We are not able to recommend any specific insurance company, but these days, there are numerous companies who offer such cover.
Hermann’s tortoises advertised on this website, and the majority of those seen and offered for sale in garden centres and general pet shops, they were captive bred at a CITES (Convention on Trade In Endangered Species) facilities usually in Serbia or Macedonia. This allows them to get the best start in life, benefiting from predictable long warm sunny days. This allows the Hermanns to bask in the most natural of all conditions, outside, from their day of hatch.
Western Dwarf Hermann’s a sub species of the usual common kept Hermann’s, are rare and captive bred in the UK, and are therefore more expensive.
All Hermann’s (the Eastern the normally seen ones in the UK and the rarer Western Dwarf sub species) are all microchipped and each delivered with a specimen specific Article 10 Certificate.
